Providing for the Less Fortunate in Our Community

December 16, 2017

To share the holiday spirit, the Cody|Brock team again adopted six families from the LifeMoves (formerly Shelter Network) Redwood Family House for the Christmas season. LifeMoves provides interim housing and supportive services for homeless families and individuals to help them rapidly return to stable housing and achieve long-term self-sufficiency.

The families adopted by Cody|Brock included 11 adults and 12 children ranging in age from two months to 12 years. In addition to the basic needs on each family’s wish list, such as warm clothing, pajamas, shoes, and diapers, the Cody|Brock team added some of today’s most popular toys so that each child had something exciting to open. Team members hand-wrapped each gift and boxed them by family to provide a special holiday treat.

This year, Project Administrator Rachel McGuigan and her 11-year-old son William joined in the festivities by assisting the children and families with ornament-making and other crafts. They experienced first-hand the joy our gifts brought to the families we sponsored. Building community by adopting families during the holiday season has become a treasured Cody|Brock tradition.
